AI inside Selected for the “Development of the Post-5G Information and Communication Systems” Project by METI and NEDO
Accelerates R&D of Generative AI Infrastructure Models
Tokyo, October 10, 2024 – AI inside Inc., a provider of an AI platform, is pleased to announce that its business has been selected by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) for the “Research and Development Project of the Enhanced Infrastructures for Post-5G Information and Communication Systems/Development of the Post-5G Information and Communication Systems” under the “GENIAC (*1)” project launched by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to strengthen Japan’s generation AI development capabilities.

Overview of research and development
In this project, participants will work on the R&D of generative AI infrastructure models and distributed computation functions to construct a generative AI infrastructure model specialized for structuring unstructured data.
AI inside will implement the results of this project in “DX Suite,” developed and provided by AI inside, to contribute to solving labor shortage issues, improving productivity in all companies and organizations, and developing the Japanese country’s AI technology and international competitiveness.

We are very honored to have been selected for the GENIAC program. Our recently upgraded LLM “PolySphere-2” has added technology for structuring unstructured data generically and has raised the potential of Japanese document processing to a new level.

AI inside’s R&D of generative AI and LLM
In June 2023, AI inside created “XResearch” for research and development of generative AI, LLM, and social implementation, and has been independently developing LLM (*2). In January 2024, we implemented our self-developed LLM in “DX Suite,” making it an innovative update that enables the OCR of all documents and structuring of unstructured data without training (*3). Further R&D efforts through unprecedented approaches to improve the accuracy and reduce hallucinations have exceeded the performances of the most advanced global LLMs. In August 2024, we announced “PolySphere-2,” a 47.3 billion parameter LLM specializing in Japanese document processing, now available as a customized SLM (*4).
