Tokyo, December 12, 2024 – AI inside Inc., a provider of an AI platform, announces the support for automating the appraisal process for their “Return Postage Insurance” of MS Plus One Small Amounts & Short Term Insurance Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “MS Plus One”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, Limited.
In this initiative, AI inside provided a total solution, including the AI-OCR service “DX Suite,” the multimodal AI integration platform “AnyData,” and consulting services by InsideX, enabling speedy and accurate digitization of procedural customer information.
MS Plus One fundamentally transformed the conventional process for their “Return Postage Insurance,” digitizing the entire procedure and realizing a revolutionary system that completes in approximately five minutes what would have taken several days in the past, from receipt to payment of the claim.

The revolutionary workflow that achieved the five-minute process
In their “Return Postage Insurance” *1, MS Plus One shortened the time required from the start of claim procedures to the receipt of payment in the customer’s designated account to approximately 5 minutes *2 by eliminating the conventional procedures of filling out and mailing documents to the customer and by reducing and digitizing the manual appraisal work performed by the insurance company.
This was achieved by utilizing AI to digitize delivery slips uploaded by customers on the designated screen accurately as proof of payment and by establishing a workflow to instantly determine the acceptability of payment on the system.
Establishing this revolutionary workflow has allowed MS Plus One to provide customers an unprecedented, extremely stress-free experience.

Insurance is often thought of as a complicated and time-consuming process. Therefore, we thoroughly pursued simplicity and speed in the claim process and aimed to provide a service that would make customers feel reassured and want to use it again. There were many challenges in achieving our goal, and the most difficult was the accurate OCR of delivery slips. With a wide variety of types and a large amount of information on each slip, the accurate OCR was much more complicated than we had expected.
